Painted Harvest Class

I’m still playing catch up with blogging but better late than never. Especially when it comes to showing you a class I held in October featuring my most favourite suite from the Holiday catalogue: Painted Harvest.

I love the beautiful Fall colours of this suite and who doesn’t love a rustic sunflower?

The first card on the left below featured very vanilla, soft sky, garden green and lemon lime twist. I love the soft touch of the wooden flower.
I was inspired by Mindy Backes – Bada-Bing! Paper-Crafting! for the card on the right. You can check out her version here. Instead of using wood DSP as my background, I chose to stamp the tree rings in Crumb Cake. The pumpkins were fussy-cut straight from the DSP.
painted harvest3If you know me, you know that I love using circles on my cards. Specifically 3 at a time. I wanted to feature the beautiful DSP so I used my stitched shapes framelits to cut out the circles for the card on the left below.
The card on the right was CASE’D from the catalogue and the colours from Sandi MacIver. Who says the flower HAS to be a sunflower…when it can in fact also be a Gerbera? I used Bermuda Bay to stamp these vibrant flowers.

painted harvest5Since my guests were making such beautiful cards, they deserved a beautiful box to take them home in. I used Stampin’ Up!’s new acetate card boxes and dressed them up! Also – a lil’ raffia ribbon never hurt nobody 😉 I have to say that this was one of my favourite classes to design and prep for. I haven’t stopped using this suite and I hope to see it return in future catalogues (hint, hint, nudge, nudge).
