Christmas Sweaters

I was so excited to get the Christmas Sweaters stamp set when the Holiday catalogue was released, but I have to admit that when it arrived I was stumped. I didn’t know how I was going to use it and Pinterest was failing me (which was odd). Then came the wonderful Stampin’ Blends. Using these alcohol based markers together with the stamp set seemed like a good match. I held my Sleepy Owl Stampers team retreat over the weekend (more about that in a future post) and designed 4 projects for them to make. They were mini pizza boxes with 3×3 notecards and envelopes inside. The Christmas Sweaters pizza box was the first in the series.

For the mini pizza box, I used Pool Party Stampin’ Blends to colour in the Santa sweater. Tip: If using Stampin’ Blend markers, you need to stamp images in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink (to prevent smudges and bleeding). I then embossed a layer using the cable knit embossing folder which goes perfectly with the sweater! A silver foil snowflake and ribbon gave it some much needed bling.

I had fun colouring all the bits and pieces of this sweater, gumdrops included.

I took the sentiment from the Wishes All Aglow stamp set – it seemed appropriate for this card.

Pink and grey is still one of my favourite combos!
