A sweet & simple Valentine

It’s heart day! The hubby and I don’t typically do anything special for Valentine’s Day; it’s really all about the kids now. I like to surprise them with a heart-themed lunch at school and this year I managed to make some chocolate-dipped strawberries as a treat. (thank you Pinterest!) The kids don’t give out treats to their class anymore (a school rule banning food items really puts a damper on things), but we do like to give out something special to the teachers. I left it until the last minute, but in fairness it was because I thought I had plenty of Valentine’s Day cards in my stash from swaps and events. Well I do have plenty, but they all say I Love You which is a sweet sentiment indeed, but not one I necessarily wanted to give the teachers. That meant I had to whip up some fresh new cards and I kinda love the clean, simple look to them.

Yep, good ole Party Panda to the rescue again! Clearly I cannot get enough of this guy. I fussy cut the panda and stuck him onto a vellum heart. I don’t often make a card that is this, well…um…RED. I think the embossed striped background makes it less bright and offensive haha!

Well there you have it. A late night night card session saves the day. I hope the teachers like them! ps. I left the cards blank and wrote this on a post-it note: Happy Valentine’s Day! Please feel free to give this card to someone special. xoxo

Here’s what you need to make this card…
